Up she rises!

It was worth the wait.

The framing of the new shed is almost complete and ready for the exterior cladding and roof to be fixed in place. The old shed will close in a few weeks time to prepare our machinery and materials for the move. Stay tuned for updates …

I would like to remind all shed members to take extra care during the coming weeks to ensure that injuries do not occur when handling heavy or potentially hazardous materials. Redbacks, splinters and rusty nails are all waiting to take a bite, so use of P.P.E. including steelcaps and gloves is advised.

Hi Dave … We are due to move within the coming fortnight and regular activities are on hold. The new Shed is on the corner of Buckley and Sullivan Streets in Jandakot and I suggest you drop by from early next month (May) onwards to meet some of the guys, take a look around and have a chat about becoming a member. Best times would be Tues, Wed, or Thurs morning. Regards Drew.

Hello, I am enquiring about the possibility of joining the Cockburn Community Mens Shed and was wondering if I could drop by sometime to have a look around? I am recently retired but don’t have many handyman skills, having worked most of my life as a journalist, and before that I was in the navy. I’m keen to get involved in any community projects and learn a few new skills. I live in Success.

Just noticed the comment above from Dave Bass, will also wait until early May. The new shed is even closer to my place than the old one!

Hi there. I am 49years old and was keen to learn how to weld for some DIY projects around the home. Do you offer some assistance with this or do you only work with wood?

      Hi Erling
We welcome men of all ages and abilities. It would be fair to say that most of our members work with wood, but we do have a metal workshop. We don’t offer any formal training but on most occasions you would find someone to help you get started.
